Please Help Fund Nicaraguan Opposition to CAFTA!

September 11, 2003

As part of CLR’s ongoing struggle against free trade agreements that continue to destroy the environment and workers’ rights, we are joining in support of protests around CAFTA meetings in Managua next week. Nicaraguan civil society groups are planning large demonstrations in the capital to voice their opposition to CAFTA’s agendas. Their ranks number women's groups, campesino movements, human rights groups, and labor organizations. They have asked for our support and solidarity.

In response, Campaign for Labor Rights, in conjunction with CISPES, Witness for Peace, U.S.-El Salvador Sister Cities, the Nicaragua Network, Citizens Trade Campaign and the Quixote Center are raising money to support mobilizations in Managua. We are asking for your support too. Donations for this cause would be greatly appreciated. Please send checks made out to CLR to our office in Washington, DC. Please write-in “Managua Support” on the check and we will transfer the donation to this effort. You can also donate online to support this effort.

You can also view the ad online (pdf 23 kb).

Thanks once again for all of your help.
